Cosas tan importante, para nunca olvidar...

Yo prefiero caminando.

I am writing from Washington State, the province of Seattle...and have just realized how difficult it is going to be to remain the way that I have grown, through backpacking, to become. Patient. Time in South America is never a certainty and everything shows itself through process. I have just uploaded all of these fotos in 15 minutes...my dads computer functions at the speed of light. Beyond rapid. We use dishwashers here, every home has a washer and dryer, busses are almost always on time, and here I own a car...my shower is hot immediately and always, and there are 4 computers in my home. Are you joking me? Immediacy. Is it a blessing or a curse? I don't know-
Argentina. What a dream of a land. After crossing through the Andes into San Carlos de Bariloche, I realized right away that I was not going to have enough time here. 10 days remaining to experience this bliss! However, looking back I must say I did a pretty good job with what time that I had. I think that I gained 10 pounds in Bariloche eating far too much chocolate. It was rediculous...but great. Every bite. But I swear there are over 30 artisinal chocolate shops, they are everywhere you go, and the chocolate is the best I have ever tasted. Truly an art. AND, in Bariloche you are surrounded by mountains to hike, ski resorts, lakes, islands, St. Bernards, beauty all around.
From Bariloche I traveled South about 2 hours to El Bolson, known as a hippie village...which it is. And I love everything about this place! The road to get here had me mesmerized, the people... so interactive and alive, so much music, art, ICECREAM, artisinal beer, and it brings you much closer to the mountains. It seems you are right at their feet...truly glorious. This town is dedicated to being a no-nuclear zone, living health consciousnessly, and sharing lifes peaceful energy...
It proved somewhat difficult, but I eventually made my way to Buenos Aires. My final destination. I spent time here living with a political activist/artist named "Male". She works with music, film, and photography, and is a brilliant writer as well. This girl is a fortress of burning energy and I deeply respect her. Because we all have energy...but where do we invest it? Her focus is truly righteous. AND her dog is also revolutionary...his name, Fidel. jaja
I think that many people imagine Buenos Aires as one thing or another, but can generally draw a picture in their mind as to what they believe it is. Evita? A capitol city of the Atlantic? Crowds of beautiful people tangoing in the streets, taking small breaks to eat an enormous steak and drink a bottle of wine... Well they have no idea. And I have no idea. But- to begin with it is a Province. There is a chief of government here that it seems has more power than the President of Argentina, over 50 neighborhoods, an insane bus system, rumors of "the disappeared" burried into the newly paved roads, and an unbelievable amount of character... I witnessed more smugness in Argentina than anywhere I have travelled. Maybe they are just one of the most recent countries of SA that my country f**ked with in a terrible way (1976). Maybe they are confused. Maybe they believe that the United States is Hollywood. Maybe all they think when they here the US is Nixon, Bush...the CIA... But aside from this, I was surrounded by such unique, powerful, genuine, glowing attitudes. And the good outweighs the bad, there is no doubt about it! I love the way of interaction here with so many affirmations it is clear that they are listening and care. CLARO. Vale.
My first day I walked the longest avenue in the world "Rivadavia" for over 100 blocks. And yes I am bragging it was crrrraazy. Here came the realization of the different sides, the dynamics, the progrssion of Buenos Aires. La Boca. TANGO. bright vibrant colors! An artist that paints without hands because of paralysis. El usado la boca! Que extrano! Que bonito! Heavy metal, raaaaaahhhh. More TANGO. Bus #53, bus #129, #101. San Telmo. I think if I was to live in BA maybe I would live here. San Telmo is chill. Ricoleta cemetary. I've never spent so much time with the dead. What an unbelievable ode to the rich and famous. La Museo de los Bellas Artes. I would generally rather explore a cities streets than visit a museum any day, however this museum brought me to a higher level, of understanding Argentina. Digging into its perspectives. Genial-
A todos los personas que tocado mi alma de mi viaje...salutados de Seattle! Y, voy a recuardar nos veces a dentro de mi corazon, tan profundamente! Siempre.
Y a mi gente de mi paiz, mi estado, mi ciudad! Vamos a jugar! Its SUMMER! peace, love, happiness...
