There is no better place to awake that from a Mongolian Yert overlooking the Mitad del Mundo in Ecuador. Surrounded by mountains, among the clouds...this is where I am...
I am having trouble leaving Ecuador. This little country is magical. For the past week, I have been loving and working at La Comunidad de Rhiannon, just outside of Quito. What a place! I am staying in the Yert with two other volunteers and the rest of the family stays in tents and in the house. I have never experienced anything like this before, such community! There are 3 dogs here and my favorite (lets be honest...everyones favorite!) is Ruby the Brazilian fighter mixed with pitbull. Que bonita! We also have a cat, African bees, 2 pigs (one died yesterday :( ... ), 5 goats, and a donkey! There were 5 chickens, but apparently Ruby and Choclita killed them the day before I arrived. The land here is barely Arable and needs a lot of nurturing. Vivimos enamorado con la tierra y los arboles y la viaje... We do not have electricity. I take ice cold showers some nights and i find it quite nice, we sit around A LOT and LAUGH, many of us fantasize of meat on the daily, we grow herbs and vegetables, creativity rules, everynight we relax among candle light and fire, a full moon is nearing and there will be a ceremony in the sweat lodge, every moment is sacred.
As far as plans go...I should leave for Peru within the next week, however it will be so hard to leave the community! I love this way of life...it is so profound. I am in good health, among brilliant souls... AND i am having regular bowel movements! haha LAUGH more, LOVE deeper, and BREATHE purpose. ciao!
