tears fall... heavy with love

Hola hola! It has been a little while since I have scribbled my thoughts to ya´ll. For the past 5 weeks I have been at La Comunidad de Rhiannon in Malchingui. We discovered this morning that we are located precisely .03 degrees off the ecuator...which translates to roughly 3km. What a brilliant place in this crazy world! Every day I was able to look out at my surroundings and feel absolutely happy, overwhelmed by such spectacle. I am so thankful for this. I am in love with my time spent in this magical mountain landscape. I was able to experience futbol matches with the camioneta drivers. The Gringos vs The Camionetas. Although we lost both matches, we partied like champions and limped away in shadows of laughter. A couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to receive 5 bites on my tailbone from some mysterious evil thing...which also laid eggs. I am not going any further with this story, however it took me to the Medico 4 times and left me with a new understanding of free healthcare, unbelievable pain, and true soulmates. Luna, my angel...was brave enough to be by my side the whole time and even defeat her fear of needles and inject me when I needed her to! Gracias mi amor... how grateful I am for this Community of beautifully crazy individuals...can never be expressed through words. I love you all.
I developed a reputation due to my love of Guallabamba, a nearby town which I visited regularly to get my chocolate milk and carne fix. It never got old to tease me about my trips to Guallabamba and to be quite honest...I´m gonna miss that place and its bizarre water tap monument. And furthermore...I don´t believe another place can come close to matching the Salchipapas of Guallabamba! QUE RICO.
Oh Malchingui. I will always remember the morning bell, the way the clouds roll in at night, the delight a box of Clos wine could bring to our faces, the singing debauchery of ¨Hallelujah¨, good times in the TP, even better times in the Yurt, baking over the wood fire, Tamiscal nights, painting...always painting, LOVE, Ruby vs all, Valentina... my favorite perro, Gatito, Mishki, Chocloschoclochoclo, tocando la guitara, such uninhibited laughter, the fear shoveling shit can spread in a community where 4 of 23 are bound to be the victims, chess games, tea break, volando alrededor de la finka...me encanta todos! It is amazing how the simple life can be so freeing. Living outside the city, finding deeper connections with nature, allowing yourself to just be, sin planes. And along the way I forgot how it is I was going to leave. Among my sadness that comes with this change is laced excitement for what is new. Chaos, more connections, new vistas, bienvenidos...

My journey South begins today. I see myself in Peru by this coming Wednesday and from there, only the gods can know. The universe has blessed me with good health, a renewed appreciation for the ability to move comfortably, peace in a world of traffic, war, and corruption, and AMISTAD from all around the world...haaaaaaaaaayy. This weekend is una lleva luna and I am climbing a mountain near Riobamba to visit Incan ruins above the clouds. Te amo te amo te aaaaammmmmo!
